1. Create a Spring Scene with Seasonal Decorations

Spring is airy, fresh, and delightful. That is how you want your space to feel for your Spring Equinox party! If weather permits, open windows. Display houseplants. The 2024 Spring Equinox falls just two days after St. Patrick’s Day and so, if you’ve already decorated with natural green foliage such as ivy or other greenery, these plants will also perfectly complement your spring décor. Even if you don’t have time for major deep cleaning, commit to doing the most impactful chore that will leave you most satisfied with your home.

Whether you provide an actual meal or opt to share party snacks, keep the food light and flavorful. Same goes for drinks. Naturally, the best way to celebrate the Spring Equinox is to spend it outside in nature. If you have outdoor space where you can comfortably host a Spring Equinox party, use this to your advantage! Even if you don’t have a yard or shared green space just outside of your home, invite your friends over and have everyone go on a walk together to the nearest park. The exercise and fresh air will be a refreshing change of pace from sitting or standing indoors, and conversing while in motion is often easier as ideas flow more naturally. Plus, there is nothing quite like an increased heart rate and movement to whet everyone’s appetite for your delicious Spring Equinox party food!

Another festive way to celebrate the equinox is to have a bonfire. Preparation Checklist for Your Spring Equinox Party

1. First, confirm that people can come on any chosen date:

Choose party date/time. The Spring Equinox can fall on March 19^th, 20^th or 21^st. In 2024, it falls on Tuesday, March 19^th. You’ll naturally want to have your Spring Equinox party either on the actual equinox or as close to it as possible. If most of your friends work on Tuesdays, then the Sunday before may be an appropriate day for this year’s party.
Choose guest list and establish minimum number of guests you’d like (to make it worth your effort)
Six weeks out, confirm guests’ interest in the party and availability on chosen party date(s)
If your preferred minimum number of guests confirm interest and availability, have them secure calendar date for your awesome party!

2. Then, proceed with the fun planning:

Schedule time on your calendar for each step of party prep (securing and/or making food/drinks, etc.)
Create invitations with all the details and send them out 4 weeks before the party
Order any party supplies and decorations 3 weeks out (so they arrive in time to prepare and set up)

Acquire fresh flowers/plants with enough advance for optimal freshness on day of party

3. Day of Party (in your amply planned time slot):

Prepare any foods/drinks that are too fresh to do any earlier
Set up any quick/easy last-minute supplies and decorations (if not up already)
Prepare ambience (music, candles/scents)
Get dressed in your favourite springtime party outfit
Once everything’s ready, meditate or do any preferred self-care to get in a good head space if you aren’t already. You want to be a relaxed, energized, and happy host. Spring is a time of renewal and fresh life, so embrace that intention with confidence and share it with your friends!
